Fibroadenoma
Fibroadenoma are predominantly seen in women between the ages of 15 and 25 however they may be identified at any age. Fibroadenomas are very responsive to hormonal changes and may enlarge with pregnancy or prior to menstruation. Fibroadenomas are benign, well defined tumours composed of abundant stroma and epithelial elements. Tissue diagnosis is advised and excision may be recommended for symptomatic fibroadenomas or for those lesions which are rapidly increasing in size.
