Cysts

Are defined as fluid filled epithelialized spaces. They vary greatly in size and number. Cysts are commonly multifocal and bilateral. They are most commonly benign. A Fine-Needle Aspiration may be performed of a breast cyst to confirm it’s contents. Occasionally an excision of a breast cyst may be required if it displays atypical features on imaging and/or biopsy.
